Last night I had a call from The Smoking Man, he'd been quiet i.e. busy at work, for most of the day so we hadn't spoken/emailed more than a couple of times which is unlike us.
It's not unusual for us to exchange 50 emails a day, some with just one line replying to the previous and others containing 5 pages of news, feelings and questions.
He called and said his opening line, I replied and then said goodbye and hung up on him.
For the first time I can remember I didn't want to speak to him.
I wanted something from him last night that he couldn't give me and I knew there was no point in asking.
Today has been very very quiet, in fact I've not heard a word from him, he's not replied to my 'Good Morning, how are you' email nor to my 'Are you really busy?' SMS.
He doesn't hold grudges and I'm 99.99% sure he's not pissed off at me.
But now I miss him!
Just as I'm about to publish this post I get a SMS
"I will be in the office soon. Are you ok?"
No, I'm not.

Seeing as this man is very mysterious, it's highly likely that he has 8 others just like you on the string.
