Last night I received an email from a guy who I met a couple of years ago while in Thailand.
We'd flirted a bit when we met, but nothing major and had kept in vague email contact since then, he's English and has been living in Japan for the last 3 years so we shared various tales of expat life. In my last email I had been obviously talking about my single status and this is his reply.
Mia,
You have the most beautiful sexy eyes I have ever seen, eyes that I could loose myself in.
You need to make the best of what you have, kick yourself back into shape and get out there.
Mia, when I met you, you were getting a bit lardy but nothing that you can't shake off.
Men are crap, we only notice the physical woman and then if that has our interest then perhaps we might bother getting to know the real woman, you deserve to have that inner woman explored but no one (in Hong Kong) is going to bother with that unless you sort your self out and shape up.

They say honesty is a virtue, but this guy makes it sound like a vice!
I can add something else about men: that probably sounded like heartfelt advice in his head. The problem is the data channel between the two sides of the brain is virtually non-existent in men. One side controls emotion, the other language.
On the plus side, genetics! Not all of us are quite as clueless as him. Hang on, that sounded better in my head.
Chas, I know he meant well and I want to take the compliment in his first paragraph so have to also except his 'advice' in the second.
