Take a break, take a Kit Kat

Battle commences next month when Cadbury launches an assault on Nestlé Rowntree’s Kit Kat with a new chocolate-and-wafer bar, marketed under its number-one selling Dairy Milk brand.

The Dairy Milk Wafer is a direct competitor to the 67-year-old Kit Kat. Although the Kit Kat is still Britain’s best-selling chocolate bar, with 47 eaten in the UK every second, its sales dropped by more than 9 per cent last year to £95.2 million. Cadbury’s scent blood. Their new product will follow the same block format as the classic Dairy Milk bar, enabling chocolate lovers to break off squares. But inside each square will be wafer biscuit, just like a Kit Kat.
