Typhoon Kompasu

Well that was a bit of a non event ....... T8 for 6 hours and only about 3 inches of rain fell on my window and even less wind!

Tropical Storm Kompasu moved closer to Hong Kong yesterday morning. The No. 8  Tropical Cyclone Signal was issued at 11:45 a.m. by the Hong Kong Observatory first time this year.  Kompasu crossed the northeastern part of Hong Kong yesterday afternoon, and brought more than 50 millimetres of rainfall to widespread areas. With Kompasu moved further inland Guangdong and dissipated gradually, all tropical cyclone signals were cancelled by the Hong Kong Observatory  yesterday night. Its remnants of rainbands were expected to persist over southern China today.

OK so some other places got a bit soggier, but was it really worth closing Hong Kong down for the afternoon?
I know I know, everyone deserves an early mark on a Friday afternoon from time to time.

Actually I think we should be able to take NonTyphoon Days, you know those rare sunny but cooler days in Mid Autumn when your at the office and you really want to be chilling out, smooching with your smoocher on a beach, up a hill, in the garden (garden GARDEN!! Whats one of those?) and the weather is wonderful (but only Monday to Friday).

Ah well.
