Ballet

Just home from my night at the ballet.

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo

I enjoyed the evening, for the first 2 acts I found the sight of so much body hair and large frames a tad noticeable, but, surprisingly enough by the last act (when they did less comedy and more skillful performances) the only thing that looked out of place was one of the dancers who was wearing glasses, presumably he had lost a contact lens or some such problem.

After 2 hours of watching men in tights I was more impressed with the amount of point work that was going on. The comedy was indeed funny, but the point work was impressive.

Eshin also rated them.

I was also impressed with the sight of so many firm thighs and buttocks. Eshin didn't mention that in his review did he!!

I've spent a fair few nights at the ballet in my time, usually the more conventional sort at Covent Gardens and tonight I realised that I took that time in my life for granted.
Due to a personal relationship I had with a dancer I would regularly get given free tickets for world class ballets. But just as regularly I'd say "no thanks darling, I've seen you dance that role already, why don't we just meet in the bar around the corner after the performance".

Culture is wasted on the young!!

So you too have supped from the delight of ballet dancers...

I have both shared a flat with one and seperately dated another dancer and have never failed to be impressed with their commitment and fitness.

But like you was too young to appreciate the finer points of life...

I really hadn't noticed those firm thighs and buttocks that you are referring to. Did we go and see the same production?

I'm very glad you liked them, Mia. I love the trocs and I just found out I'll be away the next time they play NY.
