Just had a brief call from one of my closest friends, she and her partner have just split up this weekend. I'm shocked, ok so we haven't had a private catch up in a couple of weeks, but I'm totally surprised.
Of course that means that neither of them are in a fit state to come to Christmas Dinner at my place this afternoon, she's going to stay with her sister - who was another guest along with her partner. 2 others have got a last minute great flight/package deal to a sunny beach destination. So I hope the last remaining guest is hungry, we've got a 13 pound turkey to get through.
But that all aside, I'm just stunned. Saddened and stunned. They are a pair who I think of equally as friends. I don't know the reasons why but I know they must both be hurting.
