Up or Down

In discussions with my Scotsman I asked for his opinion of long hair, up or down?
He weighed the merits and shared his thoughts. His last line on the subject made me blush and giggle just a little

"long hair in bed can be troublesome"

I remembered the last time someone said that to me in bed and why!
