Dating a Pilot

I've dated a couple of pilots during the past few years here in Hong Kong.

Both times friends and relatives on hearing his profession would roll their eyes and mutter comments about there being a woman in every airport as well as half a dozen in the air .....

One was the oldest guy I've ever dated and funnily enough the other was the youngest (comparative to my age). But apart from their chosen profession they both had something in common. They are/were both among the kindest, nicest, most thoughtful, humorous, and reliable men I've met here in Hong Kong. And in one case one of the most sexy.

But most of all they were both the most honorable. By that I don't just mean they were honest but also I mean that they did the right thing, even if it wasn't the easiest.

And to me that counts for a lot, especially here in Hong Kong where many people are not.

No they were not perfect but neither of them lied or (I believe) cheated on me.

The older guy left Hong Kong and we parted on friendly terms.

The younger one is still here and again we parted on friendly terms, we meet for lunch from time to time and he's turning into a good friend. Yes he is one of those rare breeds a man who means it when he says "but I'd still like to be friends" even if we do flirt a little. And he makes me feel good about myself.

It was never meant to be anything long term between us, but he is a good man and I'm the better person for knowing him, he cuts to the chase when I waffle on about situations I've found myself in and he has an uncanny ability to make me question myself honestly.
In fact when I talk to him or meet him I quite often come away with a clearer picture of who I want to be.

So, dating pilots ......... a good idea!
