I have found it difficult to post on the subject of the children held hostage in Russia, but I came across this account of a mother forced to choose between her 6 year old and her baby.
She was allowed to leave but to take only one child with her.
Even if her daughter made it out alive (no idea if she has) this will be a choice that will haunt the family for life. As it will, far too many other families in the town.
